Baby Weight Be Gone!....hopefully

I don't know why I do these things to myself. On top of everything else we've got going on in our lives, I've decided to hit the gym nearly everyday and start a diet. Who needs sleep?! lol My cousin Amanda started this diet called Body by Vi and she's been really successful. It's kind of like the Slimfast diet, drinking 2 shakes a day and then having a good dinner. The shakes are different tho. You add the powder to your milk of choice and then add things to enhance the drink. Today I made a chocolate/butterscotch shake. With only 12 calories in a TBSP of cocoa powder and 10 calories in the fat free butterscotch pudding mix, it was a low calorie cup of awesome!! I've been on the challenge for a week and I've already lost 4 pounds and 3.5 inches. Pretty excited about what's to come.
I cannot believe I was this pregnant. This was how I looked the day I gave birth.

I found a workout program online called Live Fit. It's by Jamie Eason. She's an awesome fitness model who's adorable. She breaks down every day, giving you specific workouts for the day. We've got one more day and we're finished week 1 of phase 1. Surprisingly, my muscles aren't killing me like I thought they would! They're tender, but in no way do I feel like I can't perform daily tasks. Pretty excited about that as it makes me feel like I'm not such a fat ass :) I also downloaded this couch to 5K app which ups your running daily so you're able to run 5K in 8 weeks. I've never been a runner but have always wanted to. I'm hoping that all this work combined will potentially lead to a 5K run next summer....or maybe even at the end of the summer :)

Hectic, hectic, hectic. The first 6 weeks of Carter's life have been pretty hectic. I remember when I had Hayden and was able to sleep when he did and pretty much work my schedule around his. Well with 2 other kids to care for, that's not gonna happen. Between Matt working, the kids school, the warmer weather, appointments, baseball, karate, sleepovers...I am one tired Mama! Baseball season started up, which is by far my favourite time of year. Jaedyn has one month left of karate. She had asked if she could do gymnastics next year which makes me a little sad because she really enjoyed karate but I guess it's something different. I'm still on the fence about what to put Hayden in. A part of me is nervous for the person running the group because he sure is a handful. He wanted to play baseball this year but with the new baby and everything else going on, I wasn't sure if we'd be able to get him down to the games. Today Carter had his first set of needles today. He definitely was not a fan but who is really? They also gave him this new oral vaccination to help with paedeatric diarrhea. There are so many vaccines now, I can't keep track. He was a lot happier with that one. He's up to 12 pounds now, gaining 4 since birth. He's doing awesome! Matt's job has been pretty stressful. He's working long hours and coming home very tired. It's definitely not a good time. We haven't really had a lot of time alone. We used to be able to spend time together when the kids went to bed but with Carter staying up as late as we do, we haven't had much time together. We definitely need a date night soon. Trish and I took the kids up to Mount Pelion on a really warm sunny day and took pics of them. They turned out awesome!

And here we go...

I've had this blog created for a really long time but haven't had the time to update it. From about August on, the latter part of 2011 has been pretty crazy for our family. Hayden started school, which in itself was the most devastating day of both mine and his life. Although I've worked his entire life, he's never had to go to a daycare. He's always been with family or friends in a non structured setting. The concept of school was extremely overwhelming to him and that definitely showed his first day. After roughly an hour of crying uncontrollably on his part, I was able to pry myself away from him and he actually enjoyed his first day. This is a story I'll be able to tell all his gf's and friends in later years. Jaedyn started the 3rd grade. I remember on the first day of grade one, she also had a meltdown and didn't want to leave by herself. Now that she's in the third grade, a hug and a kiss was all she needed and away she went. This year her class is in a portable at the school, so that's taken a bit to get used to. Other than that, both kids are doing awesome in school. Hayden's teacher interview was way better than expected and Jaedyn's report card was good enough to not even request a teacher interview.

In late August, we found out that we were having a baby together. I rarely get a "monthly gift" so I really had no idea I was pregnant. The only thing that tipped me off was the ever present tenderness of my ladies. Normally they just hang out without any bother, but lately they had been really hurty. Very rarely am I alone in my house, between kids and my parents, someone was always there. The day that I took the pregnancy test, I was alone, which was good because I freaked out like a moron. Matt has always made it clear that he didn't really want another kid. With him having Jaedyn and me having Hayden, we technically had the perfect family. The thought of telling him made me want to puke. He worked late that day, of course and I by the time he got home, I had told my mom, sister, Shirley, Kelly, Bobby, Taylor and Emilee...lol. I had no plan as to how I was going to tell him, so when he got home, I stood on the front step, cried, and asked him not to leave me....lol Now, almost 5 months pregnant, we're both more excited than ever. Both children can't wait, Jaedyn wanting a sister, and Hayden wanting a brother. Although I'd love to please them both, there's no way it's twins. We find out Dec 29th if it's a boy or a girl so more to come on that topic.
With a new baby coming, it was obvious that we'd need a different vehicle. Although our 300M was roomy in the back, Hayden is still in a booster seat and putting another car seat in the back is not fair to Jaedyn. We went vehicle shopping and were approved for a 2006 Montana extended van. Matt desperately wanted the new vehicle to be an SUV of some sort, but now we're rocking a van....lol

Here's a photo montage to catch you up on our happenings...
